WANG SI HAN unveils Masu, a Japanese-inspired bar, blending modern luxury with heritage design, set to open on 20th January 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WANG SI HAN's Masu bar draws inspiration from Japanese drinking culture, aiming to encapsulate the delicate essence of Japanese-style wine in its design. The bar's name, Masu, pays homage to the traditional Japanese sake container, reflecting the intention to bring a piece of Japanese heritage to its patrons.
The bar boasts a blend of modern luxury and traditional Japanese design, featuring a frontage that mirrors the ambiance of a Japanese street bar. The space includes a main lounge, VIP and private rooms, kitchen, two bar counters, and restroom, all meticulously crafted to express warm Japanese hospitality.
The 100 sq meter space in China's Dongguan province is adorned with one-piece South African walnut wood, custom-crafted to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The walls showcase a customized pigeon hole for liquor display, while the floor is adorned with natural black slate stone, evoking a sense of heritage.
Customizing the space presented challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team overcame obstacles to create a bright and open entertaining space. The design includes sophisticated air ventilation to control odors and sound insulation for a pleasant ambiance.
WANG SI HAN's Masu bar is a testament to the designer's passion for creating immersive experiences, earning the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2021 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design.
