Young Jae You's Pottery Art Gallery in Daegu, Alpha City, is a groundbreaking architectural marvel that seamlessly blends modern functionality with traditional Korean ceramic craftsmanship. The gallery's exterior features two distinct masses, with the lower level housing public spaces and the upper level dedicated to private research areas. The design draws inspiration from the sinuous shape of pottery, creating a unique and versatile space that adapts to various purposes.

The gallery's facade materials were carefully chosen to reflect the symbolic nature of pottery, while the courtyard's curvature mirrors the form of pottery, opening towards the outside and gradually enclosing the inner space. The design embodies the ceramic culture through a unique ceramic pattern of Bing-ryeul, utilizing three-dimensional patterns of anodized aluminum panels to create a stunning visual impact.

Located in Daegu, Republic of Korea, the Pottery Art Gallery spans 6607.86 sqm and was completed in a 1.5-year timeframe. The innovative design overcame geographical and programmatic challenges, creating a multidimensional space that offers a new perspective on public architecture. The project was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding contribution to architecture, building, and structure design.
