Yoram Cimet's Glorieta Insurgentes Tower, a 26-story sustainable office tower, redefines urban architecture in Mexico City with its innovative design and sustainable features.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yoram Cimet's Glorieta Insurgentes Tower, a 26-story sustainable office tower, redefines urban architecture in Mexico City. The project, initiated in May 2014 and completed in April 2018, stands as a symbol of urban rescue and revitalization, transforming an abandoned area into a sustainable, energy-efficient, and visually striking landmark.
The tower, with 26 levels above ground and a height of 120 meters, boasts a range of unique features, including a triple-height grand lobby, a double-height multipurpose auditorium, and two roof gardens. The project is a testament to sustainable design, achieving LEED Platinum Certification and setting new standards for sustainable buildings in Mexico.
The tower's design was inspired by the phrase "NO LIMITS" found in graffiti on the abandoned building that previously occupied the site. This vision guided the architects to breathe new life into the neglected space, symbolizing an urban rescue and transformation.
The tower's innovative design and realization technology include a double-glazed triple-layer low E curtain wall, intelligent building systems, and rooftop solar panels, resulting in 57.9% energy and water savings. The tower's sustainable features, including its vegetated rooftop gardens and efficient lighting and shading systems, showcase a commitment to environmental responsibility and energy efficiency.
With a total area of 60,000 square meters, the Glorieta Insurgentes Tower accommodates 3,000 employees and 500 daily visitors, serving as a vibrant hub of activity and innovation. The tower's unique structural solution, featuring mega columns and a semicircular shape, demonstrates a seamless blend of architectural creativity and technical excellence.
Yoram Cimet, along with lead architect Sholem Cimet Ralsky and structural engineer Carlos Tapia, led the design and construction of the Glorieta Insurgentes Tower, bringing together local and international expertise to realize this ambitious project. The tower's completion marked a significant milestone in the transformation and improvement of the Glorieta Insurgentes roundabout, setting new international standards for sustainable high-rise architecture.
Yoram Cimet's Glorieta Insurgentes Tower has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Construction and Real Estate Projects category in 2021, underscoring its exceptional design, innovation, and technical excellence. The tower stands as a testament to Yoram Cimet's commitment to integrating public space with architectural design, enhancing the quality of life for citizens and redefining Mexico City's skyline.
