Paul Bo Peng Unveils Poly Tianhuan Garden, a Modern Take on Chinese Garden Design
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Paul Bo Peng has unveiled the Poly Tianhuan Garden, a contemporary interpretation of traditional Chinese garden design. Inspired by the concept of recreating natural landscapes in a miniature form, the project aims to bring the essence of a traditional Chinese garden into a modern design context.
The Poly Tianhuan Garden stands out with its emphasis on multidimensionality, creating artificial green hills within the city. The generative landscaping system features undulating topographic changes and curvilinear surfaces, reminiscent of a natural environment. By seamlessly integrating interior and exterior spaces, the garden blurs boundaries and maximizes connectivity, offering a unique and discoverable environment for users.
Constructed using natural materials such as various stones and woods, the project aims to evoke a sense of being in nature. The use of white hemp granite for pavement and concrete for curvilinear surfaces enhances the smoothness and fluidity of the environment, while perforated metal plates are utilized for the furniture.
The Poly Tianhuan Garden spans an impressive 19,368 square meters and is located in Foshan, Guangdong. The project was realized between 2017 and 2018, with a dedicated team including landscape designers Chen Yonglun, Zheng Yuqin, Jin Cheng, and Lin Han Qingchou college, under the direction of design director Yu Ding and design chief Paul Bo Peng.
Recognized for its innovative approach, the Poly Tianhuan Garden received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category in 2020. This accolade celebrates the project's exceptional creativity, technical excellence, and remarkable innovation, setting a new standard in contemporary landscape design.
