Masterd Co., Ltd. Unveils Marugo Shinbashi, a Fusion of Western and Japanese Elements

Futoshi Masuda, the renowned designer, has unveiled the award-winning Marugo Shinbashi restaurant, a fusion of Western and Japanese elements. Located at 3-13-4-1F Shinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, this 105㎡ restaurant is a testament to Masuda's innovative approach to interior design.

The restaurant incorporates the circle that composes the Marugo logo into the interior, creating a sense of openness and casualness typical of a wine bar. The use of eye-catching mechanisms, Western elements, and Japanese materials such as Takaoka copperware sets Marugo Shinbashi apart, offering a unique and memorable dining experience.

Utilizing colored copper plates of Takaoka copperware, wine red and cube brick tiles, as well as mahogany wood, Masuda has realized a design that stands out in the bustling downtown area of Shinbashi. The integration of the brand sign into the interior design enhances visibility and conveys the store's presence in a new area.

Addressing the challenges of creating a standout mechanism while maintaining an open and casual ambiance, Masuda's meticulous approach involved creating a full-size mockup to adjust the installation position of the indirect lighting, ensuring the clear illumination from the circle.

Marugo Shinbashi's exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2020, reflecting Masuda's prodigious talent and innovative design prowess. The restaurant stands as a remarkable creation that embodies extraordinary excellence and significantly impacts the world with its desirable characteristics.
