Yin Seng Ng's Wacai Headquarters in Hangzhou, China, awarded Silver in A' Design Award 2022, is a cylindrical office building designed to integrate finance and network components into the urban landscape.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Designed by Chief Designer Ng Yin Seng Jason and his team, the Wacai Headquarters is a green and sustainable infrastructure featuring extensive skyrise gardens and a north-south facing layout to maximize natural light and minimize the use of artificial lighting. The building's unique cylindrical shape and interconnected structural parts provide flexibility, strength, and resilience against harsh weather conditions.
The integration of ancient Chinese coins symbolizing wealth and finance, along with the public's internet platform, creates a synergy between interpersonal relationships and finance through the network, making it a truly innovative architectural design.
The building's design specifications include a land use of 14500 sqm, built-up area of 60150 sqm, and a basement car park spanning 23900 sqm. The plot ratio is 2.5, with a plot density of 31% and 20% green space, showcasing its commitment to sustainable development.
The Wacai Headquarters project, which took place from January 2018 to August 2018, overcame the challenge of integrating modern building structures with the company's identity and the cultural and historical background of the vicinity. The result is a unique and innovative architectural marvel that has garnered recognition and accolades, including the prestigious A' Design Award.
