YI-RONG WEN's Reconstruct Boundary

YI-RONG WEN's Reconstruct Boundary project is a remarkable transformation of a 495.8 square meter interior space in Taiwan, completed in October 2022. The renovation aimed to enhance family communication and cohesion by blurring the boundaries between different areas of the residence. The project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically enhances the quality of life.

The renovation focused on breaking the boundaries between various areas, utilizing custom-made suspended ironwork in the social area to connect the living and dining rooms. The open laminate allows the space to be permeable, and the irregular lines provide a unique touch. Additionally, the flooring presents different visual effects, defining the theme of each space by the difference in color.

YI-RONG WEN's design emphasizes the importance of relaxation in the study room, transforming it into a social hall for families to spend time together. The interior is divided by dark and light tones to create a boundary between the social and private areas, with the social area emphasizing dark tones such as black, white, and gray.

Despite the challenges of renovating a ten-year-old apartment, the design team successfully overcame technical obstacles to create a visually stunning and functional space. The project's completion received positive feedback from the client, highlighting the appropriateness of the separation of social and private areas and the enhanced comfort throughout the residence.

YI-RONG WEN's Reconstruct Boundary project stands as a testament to the designer's ability to integrate the rational needs of customers and cultural connotations into a livable and adaptive living space. The project's recognition with the Bronze A' Design Award further solidifies its status as an outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
