Bangkok, Thailand - December 2023 - After Design Living and Space unveils Geneus DNA and GATTA Café, a groundbreaking 60-square-meter retail concept at Seacon Square Mall that seamlessly blends personalized genetic services with a lifestyle-driven café experience, making advanced health technology approachable and engaging for all visitors.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Geneus DNA and GATTA Café, designed by Jittsuphang Virachditchaphong and the After Design Living and Space team, have launched their second branch at Seacon Square Mall, Srinakarin, Bangkok. This innovative project transforms two adjacent retail units into a unified, multifunctional space that demystifies genetic testing by pairing it with the inviting atmosphere of a modern café. Inspired by the futuristic themes of the film Gattaca and the potential of personalized health, the design aims to spark curiosity and foster meaningful connections among visitors.
The interior concept stands out for its integration of Geneus DNA's advanced genetic testing services and GATTA Café's lifestyle offerings. The name "GATTA" is derived from the four DNA bases-A, C, G, T-symbolizing the brand's commitment to personalized health. Minimalist lines, clean details, and a futuristic palette, achieved through the use of stainless steel, transparent polycarbonate, and LED strip lighting, create a sleek, immersive environment. The open layout and adaptable design ensure a seamless transition between scientific discovery and everyday comfort, making the experience approachable and memorable.
Located in the central void of Seacon Square Mall, the project benefits from high visibility and was specifically invited by the mall to attract foot traffic. The design process involved overcoming significant challenges, including merging diverse functions, adhering to strict mall regulations, and experimenting with new materials. Through user research, brand analysis, and customer journey mapping, the team addressed barriers such as intimidation and unfamiliarity, ultimately transforming a clinical service into a dynamic lifestyle destination. The project's excellence was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2025, underscoring its innovation, technical mastery, and positive impact on retail design.
