Fundesign.tv, a leading Taipei-based design platform, has opened the doors to its latest project, "Home Space," in Kaohsiung's bustling high-speed rail station. Officially launched in February 2025, this shop reimagines the smart home experience by embedding advanced technology into a tranquil, human-centric environment. The project recently earned the Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award, recognizing its creative ingenuity and contribution to quality of life improvements.
Inspired by the desire to humanize technology, "Home Space" transforms the typical gadget-heavy smart home into a sanctuary where technology quietly serves daily life. The design features seamless AI integration, ergonomic appliance placement, and ambient lighting that adapts to circadian rhythms and emotional states. Concealed interfaces and soft tones create a calming atmosphere, while smart zoning ensures optimal comfort by adjusting temperature, lighting, and presence sensing in real time. The result is a space that listens, adapts, and supports, turning daily routines into poetic, intuitive experiences.
The 60-square-meter shop was realized through meticulous research and user-centered design, involving interviews, behavior mapping, and prototype testing with local households. The team overcame significant challenges, including the need to conceal complex AI systems and the logistical constraints of building in a high-traffic location with limited construction hours. The outcome is a commercial space that not only showcases TECO's eco-friendly smart appliances and energy-efficient technologies but also sets a new benchmark for sustainable, emotionally resonant living environments in Taiwan and beyond.
