The HG Holding Headquarters, designed by Quark Studio Architects, sets a new benchmark for office architecture by moving beyond the conventional, often sterile, aesthetics of institutional buildings. Located in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, this 1,790-square-meter structure spans four levels and is meticulously organized to enhance operational efficiency while supporting the well-being of its users. The building features four workstation rooms, four conference halls with a pre-function area, a dedicated meeting room, a secure management zone, and open waiting areas with refreshment access, all thoughtfully distributed to optimize workflow and user experience.
Central to the project's philosophy is the deliberate use of materials and spatial hierarchy to create an inviting and productive environment. The design employs a palette of natural oak textures, warm tones, and varied carpet patterns to counteract the clinical feel often associated with office spaces. Administrative areas benefit from subtle grey carpet variations that delineate workspaces and add tactile comfort, while vibrant, patterned carpets in the conference halls energize collaborative gatherings. The interplay of clean lines and gentle curves in both the building's massing and interiors further enhances the sense of openness and connectivity.
Quark Studio Architects have also incorporated principles of user-centered and biophilic design, recognizing the psychological impact of color and material choices on occupants. Although direct access to greenery is limited, the use of earthy hues and natural finishes subtly references nature, promoting calm and reducing stress. The reception area, with its serene blue backdrop and sleek desk, exemplifies the project's commitment to creating a welcoming point of arrival. These design strategies, combined with a robust concrete structure clad in glass and aluminum, have garnered the HG Holding Headquarters the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award for 2025, highlighting its contribution to improving workplace quality and architectural innovation.
