Spira Silva, designed by Hao Zhong and Yuchen Qiu, marks a bold step forward in sustainable urban architecture. Located in Williamsburg's waterfront district adjacent to Domino Park and the Williamsburg Bridge, this mixed-use high-rise challenges conventional skyscraper design by utilizing twisted cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels as its primary structural element. The project's innovative approach not only redefines the aesthetic potential of timber construction but also prioritizes environmental responsibility and occupant well-being.

Unlike traditional timber buildings, Spira Silva's dynamic form is achieved through advanced parametric design and digital modeling, allowing CLT panels to twist and create fluid, expressive geometries.
