The Larks Cafe, designed by Lizaveta Odintsova and located in Kyiv's Podil Plaza, has been honored with the Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award 2025 for its harmonious blend of pastel tones, rounded forms, and mindful community-focused atmosphere, setting a new standard for modern café interiors in Ukraine.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Larks Cafe, a new beacon of mindful design in Kyiv, has garnered international recognition by winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Conceived by Lizaveta Odintsova, founder of Design Buro Odintsova, the project transforms a challenging 50m² glass-partitioned space within Podil Plaza into a sanctuary of hope and joy, inspired by the symbolic lark bird. The design's pastel palette, rounded furniture, and signature arches evoke a sense of lightness, sincerity, and belonging, reflecting the café's mission to foster a joyful, mindful community.
Odintsova's approach harmonizes technical precision with artistic vision. The layout cleverly integrates guest seating and operational zones, maximizing comfort and efficiency within the limited footprint. Durable, eco-friendly materials such as microcement, self-leveling floors, decorative plaster, tiles, and mirrors were selected to meet rigorous standards for ventilation, lighting, and sustainability. The interior's caramel and pistachio hues, combined with natural textures of concrete, wood, and glass, create a cohesive, inviting environment, while Ukrainian and Scandinavian design brands-including LITVINENKO DESIGN STUDIO, Diza, Babich studio, and IKEA-contribute to the project's unique identity.
The Larks Cafe stands out for its subtle blend of modern trends: stainless steel accents, float glass, and a bright caramel ceiling, all underscored by a philosophy of light asceticism-eschewing unnecessary decor for purity and clarity. Overcoming the technical challenges posed by the space's radial glass walls, Odintsova's design delivers an atmosphere where guests can relax, connect, and savor all-day breakfasts in a setting that feels both uplifting and serene. This award-winning project not only elevates the standard for café interiors in Kyiv but also exemplifies how thoughtful design can enhance quality of life and community spirit.
