Elaine Lu's Beverly Residence, a 130-square-meter apartment in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for its harmonious blend of modern aesthetics, functionality, and personal storytelling, setting a new benchmark for residential interiors.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Beverly Residence, designed by Elaine Lu, stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful interior design. Conceived as the personal home of the designer and her family, the project reflects a deeply personal vision, seamlessly merging everyday practicality with refined elegance. The apartment's layout is defined by striking archways and portals, which subtly delineate spaces while maintaining a sense of openness and flow throughout the 130-square-meter residence.
The design features a curated mix of custom elements, including a marble fireplace, bespoke chairs, and artfully crafted display shelves that elevate the living room's ambiance. The kitchen is characterized by playful cabinetry and countertops, while the bedrooms and bathrooms balance utility with aesthetic appeal. A dedicated playroom, designed to foster creativity and order, completes the home's family-friendly ethos. Warm textured paints, wooden accents, black wood portals, and Calacatta Viola marble unite the interiors, enhanced by sculptural plants that add both drama and verticality.
Elaine Lu's approach to the Beverly Residence was shaped by the challenge of maximizing functionality within a compact footprint without sacrificing design cohesion. Every detail, from the large black wooden architrave at the entrance to the harmonious color palette and bespoke furnishings, was meticulously considered to create a sanctuary that tells a heartwarming story of home. The project's recognition with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 highlights its success in blending art, science, and technology to improve quality of life and set a new standard for residential design in Hong Kong.
