Eurobump Unfold: Award-Winning Adaptive Workspace Design Blending Flexibility, Sustainability, and Well-Being

Eurobump Unfold, conceived and realized by Belis Memik and the BELISMEMIK Architecture & Creative Studio, transforms a 512 m² floor above a product warehouse in Istanbul into a dynamic, human-centered workspace. Developed through ethnographic research and direct engagement with employees, the design responds to the growing demand for flexible, collaborative, and comfortable office environments in the industrial sector. The project's modular workstations, ergonomic zones, and nature-inspired palette create a warm, inviting atmosphere that supports both productivity and well-being.

A key feature of Eurobump Unfold is its adaptability. Modular elements allow for seamless transitions between focused work, teamwork, and informal interactions, while flexible zones can be quickly reconfigured to suit changing needs. The integration of FSC-certified wood, energy-efficient glass, and Tarkett modular vinyl flooring ensures sustainability and durability, while precision CNC machining guarantees a flawless assembly. Natural light floods the workspace, enhancing comfort and reducing energy consumption, and advanced insulation and HVAC systems address the challenges of the north-facing orientation.

The project's realization was not without challenges. Convincing company leadership to embrace modern workspace concepts required extensive research and advocacy, ultimately demonstrating the tangible benefits of multifunctional office design. The result is a workspace that not only improves employee satisfaction and productivity but also sets a new standard for industrial office environments. Eurobump Unfold's recognition with the Bronze A' Design Award highlights its innovative approach, technical excellence, and positive impact on workplace culture.
