FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jiangmen Tech City, designed by Jintao Zhai and his team at Will&Tao Design, has been recognized with the Golden A' Design Award in the Construction and Real Estate Projects category for 2025. Located in Jiangmen, China, and conceived in October 2021, this 100,000-square-meter masterplan reimagines urban living by blending residential, commercial, retail, and park spaces into a resilient, future-forward cityscape. The project draws inspiration from the traditional arcade spaces of southern China, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to honor regional heritage while enriching public life.
The development's unique approach blurs functional boundaries, transforming previously underutilized underground areas into vital service and transportation networks. Its terraced green roofs and public squares create a seamless connection between work, life, and recreation, offering flexible venues for research, innovation, and community engagement. The smart health complex, featuring organic restaurants, clinics, and wellness-focused retail, supports a holistic lifestyle and provides an all-weather destination for residents and visitors alike.
Designed with sustainability and human experience at its core, Jiangmen Tech City utilizes a layered setback strategy to maximize green space, echoing the lush terraced fields of Lingnan. The project's phased construction ensures that each section contributes to the city's evolving skyline and urban identity. Public buildings are strategically placed along major roads to enhance the city's appearance, while residential areas are oriented for optimal sunlight and minimal disruption. By integrating coworking platforms and immersive shared office environments, the development fosters creativity and collaboration among entrepreneurs, researchers, and residents, establishing a new benchmark for mixed-use urban design.
