Celestone Exhibition Center: Where Nature and Digital Art Converge in an Award-Winning Space

Celestone, designed by Güneş Duman Gürbüz, stands as a pioneering exhibition center in Istanbul, merging the organic beauty of nature with the dynamic world of digital art. Conceived between April and October 2024, the project was inspired by the belief that as society becomes increasingly digital, nature should remain an integral part of our evolving environments. Drawing from the forms of rocks, crystals, and natural textures, Celestone transforms the conventional gallery into a multisensory experience where art, technology, and the natural world intersect.

The 600-square-meter space features both an exhibition hall and a cafe, separated by ribbed frosted glass partitions to maintain visual continuity while offering distinct atmospheres. Concrete seating inspired by stone formations, wooden wall panels with stone surfaces, and crystalline pendant lamps create a tactile environment reminiscent of the earth's geology. A striking pink tree, symbolizing the spectrum of colors and the harmony between nature and digital media, anchors the design concept. Flexible digital screens extend from the exhibition hall into the cafe, allowing visitors to engage with digital artworks while socializing or relaxing.

Celestone's innovative approach addresses the challenge of harmonizing natural aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. The design process involved extensive research and observation of natural forms, as well as the integration of advanced materials such as black microcement flooring and flexible display screens. The lighting system, consistent throughout the space, enhances the immersive atmosphere. By reimagining the relationship between art, nature, and community, Celestone offers a unique venue for digital art exhibitions, fostering interaction and inspiration among visitors. This achievement has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award, celebrating its practical innovation and contribution to the future of exhibition spaces.
