FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kazutoshi Arimoto, renowned for his client-focused and detail-oriented approach, introduces Bizen Sue, a hotel project that redefines hospitality through its seamless integration with the natural environment and deep respect for local culture. Located in the lush mountains of Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, Bizen Sue is set to open its doors in 2024, offering guests a restorative experience rooted in the region's rich heritage and natural beauty.
A defining feature of Bizen Sue is its use of Bizen pottery, a traditional craft with a 1,400-year history, most notably in the hotel's custom baths. These baths, crafted by skilled local artisans, merge the rustic elegance of bizenyaki with modern functionality, overcoming technical challenges to create a space where tradition and innovation coexist. The hotel's wooden, two-story architecture is designed to blend with the landscape, utilizing natural materials and large windows to frame panoramic views and invite the changing seasons indoors.
Bizen Sue's design is shaped by the site's natural elevation, resulting in a vaulted structure that enhances openness while reducing construction costs. The hotel emphasizes ecological living, with strategically placed windows maximizing natural light and ventilation, minimizing reliance on artificial lighting and air conditioning. Communal spaces encourage guest interaction, while the overall atmosphere fosters relaxation and a sense of connection to nature. Recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2025, Bizen Sue stands as a testament to thoughtful, sustainable architecture that celebrates local craftsmanship and the unique charm of Okayama.
