Juan David Martínez Jofre's Numa Beach, a 1,200 m² club and restaurant located in Playa de Muro, Mallorca, has been awarded the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award 2025 for its seamless integration of natural elements, minimalist sophistication, and immersive leisure experiences.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Numa Beach, designed by Juan David Martínez Jofre and his team at Minimal Studio, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award for 2025, celebrating its exceptional approach to interior space, retail, and exhibition design. Situated on the sun-kissed shores of Playa de Muro in Mallorca, this 1,200 m² club redefines the Mediterranean leisure experience by blending minimalist aesthetics with the sensory richness of the sea. The project, completed in June 2023, stands out for its visual cleanliness, functional unity, and a palette inspired by the natural environment.
The design draws inspiration from the desire to create a space where the essence of the sea merges with immersive leisure. Numa Beach's layout harmoniously connects a restaurant, bar, seaside relaxation area, dance floor, and an art gallery-inspired rest area, all unified by a neutral palette and marine sand-filled floor joints. The lighting design adapts to both natural sunlight and evening ambiance, with conceptual effects such as the access tunnel to the wet rooms, ensuring a dynamic and atmospheric environment throughout the day and night.
A key innovation lies in the use of 100% natural materials, with up to ten shades of white culminating in the color of the local sand, which is also used in the material joints. Rigorous research into the compatibility of sand with microcement, concrete, and natural stone resulted in a seamless blend between the built environment and the surrounding landscape. Direct access from both the beach and the street, along with interconnected functional zones, ensures a fluid and welcoming experience for guests. Numa Beach's award-winning design not only elevates the standard for Mediterranean clubs but also sets a new benchmark for integrating nature, technology, and hedonistic minimalism.
