Completed in April 2024, this 2,600 sq. ft. apartment in Happy Valley was conceived to unite three generations under one roof, seamlessly integrating the city's rich cultural heritage with contemporary design sensibilities. The project's core inspiration was to foster harmony among family members of different ages, reflecting both nostalgic and modern elements of Hong Kong life.

What distinguishes The Leighton Hill is its innovative approach to multigenerational living. By merging two units into one expansive home, Cheng created a flexible, multifunctional environment that encourages interaction and communication. The design features a nostalgic mahjong table as a cultural anchor, promoting intergenerational bonding. High-quality materials, such as Italian floor tiles and curved bronze accents, are paired with environmentally friendly, sustainable practices, emphasizing craftsmanship over ostentation. Large windows and open layouts maximize natural light and air, creating a dynamic and inviting atmosphere that adapts to the needs of its residents.

The apartment is equipped with smart home technologies, allowing residents to effortlessly control their environment for optimal comfort. Extensive research, including 3D simulations and user consultations, informed the design process to ensure the space met the unique requirements of each family member. Overcoming the challenge of uniting old and new cultural values, The Leighton Hill offers a blueprint for urban homes that value tradition, sustainability, and modern luxury. Its recognition with the Silver A' Design Award 2025 highlights its outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and positive impact on contemporary living in Hong Kong.
