FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stone Glow, a 64-square-meter apartment designed by Yi Chen Chang in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, exemplifies the concept of "gradual change" by artfully layering colors and materials to create a visually dynamic yet serene living environment. The project, completed in September 2024, was conceived to enhance the spatial experience of a minimalist home while introducing depth and character through subtle transitions. The design's signature approach involves stacking white and gray hues with black accents, while the TV wall and kitchen island are clad in the same gray-toned stone, featuring a gradual shift in shade for a cohesive and sophisticated look.
The apartment's open-plan living area is bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, with an open kitchen and central island serving as both a spatial divider and a social hub. The TV wall's base is covered in gradually changing marble, extending into a grille that wraps around the space, while art paint with meticulous texture adorns the sofa backdrop, dining room display wall, and corridor, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. Storage solutions are seamlessly integrated, including an arc-shaped entryway cabinet, concealed wardrobes, and a U-shaped display wall for treasured objects, all enhanced by warm wood grain finishes.
A highlight of the design is the master bedroom's U-shaped headboard, which combines rural and misty tones with expertly layered wood paint and integrated aluminum strip lighting. This feature, along with the use of titanium-plated wall lamps and curved edges, elevates both the visual appeal and functionality of the space. The multi-functional room behind the sofa is thoughtfully reserved for future needs, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to adaptable living. Stone Glow's innovative blend of gradual transitions, minimalist form, and practical solutions has earned it the Iron A' Design Award, recognizing its contribution to contemporary residential design.
