Award-Winning Beykoz Mansions: A Modern Art Deco Family Home Inspired by Travel, Art, and Nature

Serpil Senyuz Kut's latest project, Beykoz Mansions, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located in Istanbul's scenic Beykoz district, the 600-square-meter residence was meticulously renovated to meet the needs of a young family of five, offering a harmonious blend of luxury, functionality, and timeless design. Drawing inspiration from the owners' passion for travel and art, the home features a resort-like ambiance, custom-designed furniture, and a curated art collection displayed prominently in the double-height living area, which serves as the heart of the home.

The design process prioritized a user-centric and lifestyle-driven approach, with extensive research conducted through interviews, observations, and surveys to tailor the space to the family's preferences. The open-plan ground floor fosters togetherness with high ceilings, a striking fireplace, and seamless transitions between living, dining, and kitchen areas. Structural changes included extending the kitchen, converting the garage into a cinema room, and merging staircases for improved access to the attic play area. Each floor is thoughtfully dedicated: the first floor houses the master suite and private bar, while the upper floors provide personalized spaces for the children and guests, culminating in a bright, playful attic.

Overcoming significant architectural challenges, such as leveling the ground floor and reconfiguring the staircase, allowed the design team to maximize ceiling heights and create a sense of grandeur. The result is a home that not only meets the practical needs of its residents but also elevates their daily living experience with refined aesthetics and a strong connection to the surrounding natural landscape. The Silver A' Design Award recognizes Beykoz Mansions as a benchmark for excellence, creativity, and innovation in contemporary residential design.
