Wuhan-based designer Yang Ding has been honored with the Silver A' Design Award 2025 for the Wuhan University Science Park Exhibition Hall, a 365-square-meter cultural space inspired by the dynamic forms of water and designed to transform visitor experiences through creative spatial storytelling.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yang Ding's latest project, the Wuhan University Science Park Exhibition Hall, has earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located beside Thomson Lake in Wuhan, China, the 365-square-meter exhibition hall draws inspiration from the ever-changing and energetic qualities of water. The design integrates natural landscape elements and fluid forms to create a vibrant, immersive environment that redefines how visitors interact with cultural and technological displays.
The exhibition hall stands out for its innovative use of curved surfaces, uniform material palettes, and strategically placed landscape features, which together evoke a sense of freedom and emotional resonance. The space is conceived as a dynamic touchpoint for display and publicity, focusing on engaging visitors' emotions and stimulating curiosity through visual stimuli and situational experiences. By breaking away from traditional, static exhibition layouts, Yang Ding introduces a heterogeneous spatial narrative that encourages reinterpretation and deeper engagement with both the exhibits and the surrounding environment.
Addressing challenges such as limited corridor lighting and entrance blockages, the design team implemented creative solutions to maximize spatial value and express corporate culture. The exhibition hall not only showcases technological advancements but also emphasizes the connection between people, technology, and nature. Through thoughtful research into spatial psychology and visual structure, Yang Ding has crafted a composite experience space that activates the senses and leaves a lasting impression on visitors, setting a new standard for exhibition hall design in China and beyond.
