Wuhan University Science Park Exhibition Hall: Award-Winning Design Inspired by Water and Landscape Integration

Yang Ding's latest project, the Wuhan University Science Park Exhibition Hall, has earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located beside Thomson Lake in Wuhan, China, the 365-square-meter exhibition hall draws inspiration from the ever-changing and energetic qualities of water. The design integrates natural landscape elements and fluid forms to create a vibrant, immersive environment that redefines how visitors interact with cultural and technological displays.

The exhibition hall stands out for its innovative use of curved surfaces, uniform material palettes, and strategically placed landscape features, which together evoke a sense of freedom and emotional resonance. The space is conceived as a dynamic touchpoint for display and publicity, focusing on engaging visitors' emotions and stimulating curiosity through visual stimuli and situational experiences. By breaking away from traditional, static exhibition layouts, Yang Ding introduces a heterogeneous spatial narrative that encourages reinterpretation and deeper engagement with both the exhibits and the surrounding environment.

Addressing challenges such as limited corridor lighting and entrance blockages, the design team implemented creative solutions to maximize spatial value and express corporate culture.
