FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"Tribute to Magnolia Flowers" Melds Shanghai's Past and Future in Award-Winning Reception Design

"Tribute to Magnolia Flowers," a reception space designed by Xingbin Yang, has captured the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located at the southeast corner of Qingxi Road and Jianshe Road in Shanghai's Changning District, this project began in November 2023 and was completed in June 2024. The design pays homage to the rich cultural legacy of Shanghai, blending elements such as magnolia flowers, soup flowers, and motifs reminiscent of old currency to evoke the city's storied past while envisioning its future.

The project stands out for its distinctive use of dark black tones and a vintage "old money" aesthetic, complemented by premium materials including Atlantic snow white, Brazil black, translucent marble, rosin jade, and dark wood. These choices create a striking visual impact and an atmosphere that is both luxurious and inviting. The design employs techniques like niche shaping and deconstructivism, resulting in a three-dimensional canvas that reflects the evolving values and lifestyle of Shanghai's citizens across generations.

Beyond its function as a reception area, "Tribute to Magnolia Flowers" is versatile enough to serve as a real estate showcase, bar, restaurant, or cultural tourism venue. Its adaptability and sustainable approach ensure continued relevance and use. The project's recognition with the Silver A' Design Award underscores its technical excellence, artistic innovation, and ability to inspire awe, setting a new benchmark for interior space design in China and beyond.
