Kaohsiung, Taiwan - March 21, 2024 - Hao-Chun Cha's latest project, "Scarlet Threads," has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its bold use of dark hues and scarlet accents to create a personalized, eco-conscious living space for a local doctor in Kaohsiung.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"Scarlet Threads" stands out as a striking residential interior that artfully balances calm, deep tones with vivid red accents, reflecting the owner's dynamic personality. Designed for a doctor accustomed to the sterile whites of a hospital, the apartment offers a dramatic visual contrast, providing a restorative environment that alleviates visual fatigue and celebrates individuality. The project, completed in March 2024, occupies the 21st floor of a Kaohsiung residential building and was realized by Hao-Chun Cha and Chien-Lin Lee of ChArchi Lab Design Co., Ltd.
At the heart of the design is a sophisticated lighting system featuring RGB color capabilities, allowing residents to shift the mood of the space according to their preferences. Red lighting and accents in the sofa and decor serve as subtle yet powerful expressions of the owner's spirited character, while the interplay of dark and scarlet tones throughout the interior fosters a sense of tranquility and stability. Japanese tiles, chosen for their precision and cultural resonance, line the walls, reflecting both the owner's heritage and the meticulous attention to detail valued in the medical profession.
Sustainability and health are central to the project's ethos. All materials used are non-toxic and durable, ensuring a safe environment for both residents and construction teams. The use of iron in furniture construction enhances stability and longevity, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and supporting eco-friendly living. Every element, from the lighting design to the choice of materials, is tailored to create a unique, personalized sanctuary that stands apart from conventional residential interiors.
