Harmonious Residence, designed by Mak Chung Yan, stands as a testament to the seamless fusion of cultural artistry and environmental consciousness. Drawing inspiration from the evocative works of Kermit Oliver and Pierre Marie, the project transforms a 121-square-meter Hong Kong residence into a living gallery, where natural stone, metal, and wood are harmoniously blended. The open-plan LDK (Living, Dining, Kitchen) layout, free of partitions, not only enhances spatial fluidity but also encourages interaction, making the home both functional and emotionally resonant.

Central to the project is the use of eco-friendly and sustainable materials, such as FSC-certified wood, recycled cork, and natural stone, all selected for their minimal environmental impact and adherence to stringent health standards. The bathrooms are equipped with GEBERIT's advanced water-saving technologies, optimizing water efficiency and reducing energy consumption. These thoughtful choices reflect Mak's commitment to green construction and energy conservation, ensuring that every aspect of the residence aligns with contemporary sustainability goals.

The design process was shaped by the challenge of integrating art and nature within a limited urban space, without compromising comfort or ecological responsibility.
