Award-Winning "Elegance In Movement" Showcases Human-Centered, Sensory-Driven Interior Design in Kaohsiung

Cheng Han Chan's "Elegance In Movement" has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, celebrating its exceptional approach to modern residential living. Completed in May 2024 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, the project transforms a compact 67-square-meter apartment into a harmonious sanctuary, reflecting the personalities and passions of its young residents. By removing non-load-bearing partitions, the design maximizes openness and natural light, while the interplay of colors and materials creates distinct atmospheres for each functional area.

The interior seamlessly integrates the couple's love for wine tasting, baking, and piano, ensuring that elegance and ritual become an intrinsic part of daily life. Deep brown wood and black iron elements in the kitchen and dining area evoke a cozy bistro ambiance, while the living room's neutral gray-white palette and hand-brushed mineral paint textures foster a tranquil, wabi-sabi-inspired retreat. The project's innovative wine display cabinet, supported by slender iron pipes and featuring ultra-thin embedded lighting, exemplifies the technical ingenuity and attention to detail that set this design apart.

Sustainability is woven throughout the project, with the use of natural wood veneer, thin tiles, and eco-friendly flooring that balance visual appeal with environmental responsibility. The design's strategic use of color, light, and material selection not only enhances spatial perception but also addresses the urban challenge of creating a high-quality living experience within a limited footprint.
