Silk Rhyme, designed by Jeremy Tung and The One Design Group, has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award for 2025. Completed in September 2023 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, this 528-square-meter public space redefines communal living by blending hotel-style service with refined residential comfort. The project was conceived to meet the diverse needs of all building residents, offering a harmonious balance between dynamic activity zones and tranquil retreat areas.
The design divides the elongated space into three distinct blocks: a central hub for high-traffic services such as parcel delivery and a coffee bar, a dynamic wing featuring a gym, yoga and meditation rooms, bathing facilities, and an outdoor pool, and a static wing with a café, banquet and conference spaces, a piano room, library, and flexible areas. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides maximize natural light and garden views, creating a seamless connection between the interior and exterior while ensuring transparency and comfort. Each block is equipped with two-way doors, allowing fluid movement and easy access for both residents and staff.
Inspired by the elegance of Chinese silk and traditional courtyard forms, Silk Rhyme employs light-toned stone, environmental paints, and marble textures to evoke a sense of modern luxury. A striking art installation at the entrance, featuring black sand cascading from the ceiling, symbolizes the accumulation of small efforts into grand achievements. The design also overcame significant technical challenges, such as managing high window wind pressure, without compromising safety or aesthetics. Through thoughtful zoning, artful material selection, and a focus on service quality, Silk Rhyme delivers a sophisticated, functional, and welcoming environment that elevates everyday living for its residents.
