TSAI, YUAN-CHANG's Interior Design Transforms Taichung Home into a Lively and Open Space
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TSAI, YUAN-CHANG's Marcaron House redesign in Taichung, Taiwan, has breathed new life into a previously partitioned and dim space. By reconfiguring the layout, the designer has created a bright and transparent interior, amplifying the sense of space and functionality. The open and multi-functional lounge, integrated with soft colors and classic tiles, enhances storage and usability. The project, spanning from September 2018 to October 2019, has earned TSAI, YUAN-CHANG the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021 for its outstanding creativity and resourcefulness.
The 640.620 square feet space was re-planned to maximize natural light, incorporating imported tiles, herringbone parquet flooring, and custom-made iron parts. The redesign focused on creating an open and diverse activity space, allowing for various uses such as a bedroom, a Japanese room, or a chat room. By removing partitions and timber, the space now seamlessly incorporates light from the windows, making it brighter and more inviting.
TSAI, YUAN-CHANG's innovative approach to addressing challenges such as water leakage and insufficient lighting has resulted in a vibrant and functional living space. The project's success lies in its ability to integrate the owner's ideas within a limited budget, presenting a practical and aesthetically pleasing design that has garnered recognition in the form of the Bronze A' Design Award.
