Award-winning design project "Cozy White" by Creative Group brings a warm and light-filled living space to a family of four in Taipei, Taiwan, completed between 2018-2019.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Designed by YU-CHI LIU and YI-HAN CHEN, "Cozy White" is a residential project that embodies a warm and light-filled living space for a family of four in Taipei, Taiwan. The design was inspired by the homeowners, who returned to Taiwan to settle down and start a new chapter in their lives with the birth of their baby daughter. The project seamlessly integrated a loft-style layout into the maisonette, creating a serene and comfortable environment.
The interior of "Cozy White" is characterized by a pure white tone, wooden materials, and reflecting glasses, which collectively create a light and warm ambiance. The design features a spiral staircase that influences the vertical access, along with a unique use of black, grey, and white to achieve a visual balance. The space is adorned with special coatings, iron parts, glass, woodwork, carved white marble, imitation stone tiles, mirror surfaces, and super wear-resistant wooden flooring.
One of the notable challenges overcome in the project was the implementation of a space-saving rotating circular staircase, which not only restored a high and bright view but also ensured safety and aesthetics. The design team carefully considered the practical use and safety aspects, particularly for the children in the household.
"Cozy White" received the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in interior space, retail, and exhibition design. The project reflects the spirit of nature, innovation, and green architecture, conveying a harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
