Kevin Chu's Soothing Home design project is a testament to the fusion of modern simplicity and heart-warming endurance, resulting in an elegant and comfortable humanistic space. The design creates a pure and elegant residential aesthetic, fostering a sense of ease and carefree living. The project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness.
The Soothing Home project, a duplex apartment, underwent a transformation to address the issue of the original bulky staircase blocking natural daylight and generating burdensome and dull feelings. The replacement with a new open staircase has spawned a see-through, light, smooth, and broad sense of space, significantly brightening the previously dark hallway alongside the staircase.
Constructed with marbles, quartz tiles, iron pieces, natural brushed veneers, specific Japanese paints, engineered wood flooring, and imported wallpapers, the design realizes a poetic and happy experience of space. The core values of natural and comfortable elements are preserved, bringing affections and dreams into the home.
