Yuchi Zhang's innovative design for Xie Yan, a Japanese crab cuisine restaurant, captures the essence of the sea creature in a stunning 450-square-meter space in Kunming, completed in June 2019.

Yuchi Zhang's design for Xie Yan restaurant is a visual and spatial masterpiece, with the layout resembling a crab, complete with a raised platform representing the shell and a robatayaki bar cleverly embedded within. The use of hexagonal tiles at the entrance and carefully placed seating areas further accentuates the crab-inspired theme.
What sets Xie Yan apart is its unique visual effect and spatial style, perfectly capturing the essence of Japanese crab cuisine while expressing the business philosophy and value of the restaurant's brand.
