Ahmed Habib's Monolithic House redefines the residential architecture in Jeddah, inspired by old Arabic houses and traditional design elements, offering a unique living experience that balances privacy, cultural aspects, and climate requirements.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ahmed Habib's Monolithic House is a groundbreaking project that redefines residential architecture in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Inspired by old Arabic houses, the design concept explores the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a composition of three main masses that enclose external courts, reminiscent of traditional Arabic houses. The house envelope features semi-transparent screens with old Saudi patterns, providing privacy, shading, and natural ventilation while allowing a dynamic visual interaction.
The Monolithic House stands out with its unique use of materials, including honed travertine stone, black steel, off-white stucco, matt walnut wood, double-glazed glass, and perforated openable screens. The design also incorporates separate entrances for gender segregation and various functional spaces across different floors, catering to the diverse needs of the residents.
With a built-up area of 1540 sqm on a 1000 sqm plot, the Monolithic House offers a seamless blend of modern luxury and traditional accents, addressing the climate requirements and privacy needs dictated by the Arab culture. The project's design process commenced in September 2020 and concluded in January 2021, marking a significant milestone in redefining residential architecture in Jeddah.
