Enota's sustainable approach to hotel renovation in Lipica, Slovenia, with the Maestoso hotel
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Enota's Maestoso hotel, a renovation of an existing 1970s building, offers a sustainable approach to hotel renovation in Lipica, Slovenia. Inspired by the traditional white fences surrounding the pastures of the white Lipizzaner horses, the design integrates this regional motif into the building envelope, creating a strong connection with the local landscape.
The hotel's standout feature is its façade structure, which not only supports added balconies but also harmonizes the building's appearance with the surrounding landscape. The project aims to repurpose and expand the existing structure, offering a new character and modern facilities to the hotel.
The realization of the project required a three-dimensional approach to both the structure and interior organization of the space. The façade was parametrically modeled and produced with CNC milling out of wooden beams, while the interior features brushed and cleaned walls revealing the rough concrete structure, complemented by wood and metal furnishings for added warmth.
The Maestoso hotel spans 7,785 m2 on a 9,970 m2 site with a footprint of 3,440 m2. The project commenced in 2018 and was completed in July 2021 in Lipica, Slovenia.
