Authentic Eden: A Renovation Project by Wei Tong Chen

Wei Tong Chen's Authentic Eden is a remarkable renovation project that breathes new life into a 30-year-old villa, nestled at the back of a community in Taichung, Taiwan. The project, completed in 2019, aimed to provide a serene and spacious retreat for a high-stressed American professor and businesswoman, addressing the inconveniences of the public areas and transforming the interior to foster a more harmonious family life.

The renovation focused on creating a more open and inviting space, with the removal of walls that divided the kitchen, living room, and dining room, allowing for more multi-dimensional interactions between family members. The introduction of large French windows and the utilization of a gray and white color palette brought warmth and order to the interior, while the installation of a lawn in the yard provided a soothing outdoor retreat.

Authentic Eden, spanning approximately 198 square meters, features three bedrooms, two living rooms, and a study, offering infinite possibilities for interior design. By reorganizing the layout and renovating the garage to serve as the new entrance, the project significantly improved the quality of life for the family, fostering better connections between man and space, and enhancing relationships within the neighborhood.
