The VIVINEVO fragrance art gallery, designed by Yuan JIANG and Chen SONG, redefines the retail experience by prioritizing olfactory and multi-sensory encounters over visual aesthetics. Unlike traditional commercial spaces, the fragrance gallery challenges the norms of retail environments, offering a unique fusion of smell, vision, and interactive experiences. The 314 square meter space functions as an immersive art gallery, providing customers with a multi-dimensional experience of fragrance through visual, auditory, olfactory senses, and interactive installations.
The media entrance of the gallery is constructed from approximately 5,000 recycled perfume bottles, serving as a striking representation of the brand's image and offering a surprise to customers. The entrance features a physical pixel installation, creating a color-changing media structure that continuously transforms the atmosphere day and night. The main hall boasts a 20-meter irregular curved surface with digital projections, enhancing the space with changing perfume textures and informative content related to the history and raw materials of the fragrances on display.
The project, which began in August 2019, was completed in October 2020 in Beijing. The design team, led by Jiang Yuan and Song Chen, overcame various challenges in creating a space that not only subverts traditional retail norms but also guides consumers to understand the history and product characteristics during the exhibition and self-guided tour, ultimately contributing to improved product sales.
