Renewal of Historical Paper Factory into Exhibition Space in Zhongxing Cultural and Creative Park
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Willy Yang Architects & Planners, led by Tsung Wei Yang, has completed the renewal of Warehouse 20 21 22 23, located in the Zhongxing Cultural and Creative Park in Yilan County, Taiwan. Once a paper manufacturing company's workshop, the warehouses have been transformed into a historical exhibition space, preserving the industrial architecture and promoting the cultural heritage of the region.
The renewal project focuses on preserving the original structure while incorporating modern elements. New steel frames outline the space, protecting the historical structure, and lighting design highlights the industrial architecture, creating an overlapping relationship between modern and industrial characteristics. The project spans 801 square meters and took 5 months to complete.
The design team, including Tsung Wei Yang, Tzu Hsiang Lin, Janmichael Antoni, and Zi Ling Wei, overcame the challenge of integrating new design elements into a historical space without diminishing its value. The lighting design, emphasizing the unique steel structure, plays a significant role in defining the spatial characteristics of the design.
Willy Yang Architects & Planners, based in Yilan County, Taiwan, specializes in architecture, interior planning, and construction process supervision.
