Dreamland: A Whimsical Stone Transformation

Unique Store Fixtures, in collaboration with designer Elizabeth Margles, unveiled the Dreamland interior installation at IDS 2020. The design inspiration stemmed from combatting negative world events and Jonathan Adler's design sensibility, aiming to evoke wonder and ease through the space. The innovative approach transformed heavy stone slabs into light and soft clouds, challenging the norm and communicating a dreamy atmosphere not typically associated with the product.

The realization of Dreamland involved a combination of waterjet cutting Caesarstone quartz, CNC'd plywood, and welded structural steel. The exhibit booth's dimensions were 60 feet wide by 30 feet deep by 12 feet tall, featuring various elements such as pearly gates, cloud wall displays, rainbows, and more. The installation was static, yet it transformed participants as they interacted with the space, opening their minds to new ways of seeing the product.

Project brief for Dreamland started in August 2019, with installation completed in January at IDS 2020. The design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
