Designer Jackson Y. K. Chia Transforms Dining Space into a Multi-functional Area
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Design Gallery, led by Jackson Y. K. Chia, has unveiled "Dining on 54," a multifunctional space inspired by the iconic Mount Kinabalu. The design features an earth-toned color palette, incorporating natural rock from Mount Kinabalu, chevron wooden textures, and gold stainless steel inlays. The space, measuring 8270mm (W) x 7200mm (D) x 4000mm (H), is designed to serve as a gathering room for families and friends, offering a versatile environment for various activities.
The project, which began in May 2021 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. The design concept was refined to create a harmonious atmosphere, overcoming creative and technical challenges along the way. The space offers a balance of luxury and warmth, with leather and gold finishing symbolizing deluxe comfort. The project has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023.
