FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FLÃVIO MELO FRANCO proudly presents the AD House, a 495 sqm architectural marvel nestled in the heart of Teresina, Brazil. The design concept was inspired by the breathtaking surrounding landscape, with a focus on providing residents with unparalleled panoramic views of the region.
The AD House stands out with its integration of green spaces within the residence, offering a sanctuary from the region's warm climate. The ground floor features a well-appointed kitchen, garage, living and dining rooms, patio, and other essential spaces, while the first floor houses the private bedrooms. The rooftop serves as a communal space for relaxation and gatherings, providing a unique living experience for the residents.
Constructed using innovative techniques, the walls are made of ceramic bricks, the structure is crafted from concrete, and the roof boasts thermo-acoustic aluminum tiles. The use of Shou Sugi Ban, a traditional Japanese wood preservation method, was employed for the brise soleils, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the design.
FLÃVIO MELO FRANCO's AD House encompasses a 33m x 33m x 38m x 13m site, offering a spacious 495 sqm of constructed space on an 814sqm site. The design seamlessly blends with the landscape, creating a harmonious interaction between the residence and its surroundings, achieved through extensive green spaces and glass elements along the facade.
Planning for the AD House commenced in 2018, with construction taking place in 2021 in Teresina, Brazil. FLÃVIO MELO FRANCO dedicated meticulous attention to detail throughout the design process, ensuring the incorporation of ample green spaces and a unique floating swimming pool above the ground floor, resulting in a residence that effortlessly integrates with the natural environment.
FLÃVIO MELO FRANCO's AD House overcame various creative and technical challenges, particularly in the construction of the structure, which features a captivating swimming pool on the second floor, visible from the ground level. The use of charred wood not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also serves as a long-lasting preservation method, contributing to the timeless elegance of the design.
Contemporary features define the AD House, with a color palette predominantly composed of concrete and gray tones, complemented by natural materials such as stone and wood. The integration of carbonized wood slats using the traditional Japanese technique, along with strategically placed smoked film on the windows, showcases FLÃVIO MELO FRANCO's commitment to creating a sustainable and visually captivating living space.
FLÃVIO MELO FRANCO's AD House has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2022, underscoring its innovative and practical design that meets professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.
