Discover the Urban Sanctuary of "Blind" House, Completed in 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Boonlert Hemvijitraphan's "Blind" house is an urban sanctuary nestled in the heart of Bangkok, completed in 2013. The glazed ground floor encloses the main living areas, while an origami-inspired sculptural hill accommodates a sunken garage and shrine, creating a tranquil space for Zen living and meditation in the city.
The unique design features a concrete plane supporting the second story, creating the illusion of a mass floating above the landscape. The upper level is clad in a rusted metal lattice, offering privacy while still filtering in sunlight, and the interior is lined with natural materials, providing a sleek and minimalistic living space.
Constructed with platina steel, tempered glass, customized aluminum frames, and laminated wood panels, the "Blind" house spans 350 sq.m. and is a testament to modern architecture and design innovation. The house also features a reflective pond, concrete walls, and an origami hill, offering a harmonious blend of nature and modernity.
Boonlert Hemvijitraphan's "Blind" house was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and trendsetting design that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom. The house stands as a testament to Hemvijitraphan's architectural prowess and his ability to create spaces that resonate with the place and time.
