Bryan Chang unveils the Pumpkin House, a Halloween-themed restaurant design, completed in Taichung in July 2014, which brings a vivid visual impression through the adjustment of spatial tinge and ambiance.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bryan Chang, a renowned designer, has unveiled the Pumpkin House, a unique restaurant design that brings the theme of Halloween to life. Situated in the heart of Taichung, this two-story light steel structure building stands out amidst the homogenous stores around it. The exterior walls have been modified using different manual bricklaying crafts, elevating the facade and creating a distinct visual identity. The design also focuses on safety measures while ensuring a visually appealing presentation.
The interior of the Pumpkin House features a striking contrast of hues, with the original steel texture of the ceiling complemented by elegant jazz blue painted timber and red bricks. The ground is adorned with warmth retro tiles, solid wood, and stone bricks, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The use of pinewood shapes the wall surface from the first to the second floor, extending the vertical visual perception. Additionally, recycled wine bottles have been repurposed to create a semi-private space on the second floor, adding an environmentally friendly touch to the design.
The design team, led by Bryan Chang and including Ray Ho, overcame various creative and technical challenges to bring the Pumpkin House to life. The project, which began in December 2013, was completed in July 2014, showcasing the team's dedication to creating a space that offers a humanistic and visually captivating dining experience.
