Binomio Taller Unveils Symbiotic Single Family Residence in Mérida, Yucatán
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Binomio Taller introduces Casa de Mar, a single-family residence in Mérida, Yucatán, seamlessly blending interior and exterior spaces to embrace the surrounding beauty. The project, initiated in late 2021 and completed in January 2023, is a testament to the symbiotic relationship between architecture and nature, offering a tranquil living experience.
The design integrates tranquil gardens, natural ventilation, and lighting, with a central pool providing a cool breeze through water evaporation, reducing the need for air conditioning. Local materials like stone and wood are used for durability and contextual harmony. The interior design promotes serenity with a nature-inspired color palette, soft textures, and diffused lighting, creating peaceful spaces for relaxation.
Site analysis in Mérida informed the design, aiming to establish a symbiotic relationship between architecture and nature. CAD software facilitated detailed digital models, merging interior and exterior. A central horseshoe-shaped construction utilized evaporative cooling for natural air conditioning. The program included distinct social and private areas with separate entrances, ensuring privacy and comfort. Local materials like stone and wood were chosen for durability, low maintenance, and integration with the environment.
