Shi Zhe Lo's Suspended and Transparent design project, a commercial office space, challenges traditional aesthetics with conflict and surprise, blending quality materials and visuals to create a distinctive space.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shi Zhe Lo's Suspended and Transparent design project is a groundbreaking commercial office space that defies traditional norms. The concept revolves around the conflict between quality materials and visuals, utilizing marble's heaviness to create a space that suspends, floats, and interlaces virtual reality. Completed in July 2020 in Taichung, Taiwan, this 80 square meter project redefines commercial office aesthetics.
The design features a wooden grille that can be manually rotated to adjust indoor airflow and guide natural light. The space is surrounded by stone and incorporates natural cypress on the ceiling, balancing coldness with warmth and injecting liveliness with green walls. The project also aligns with environmental protection trends, utilizing panels that conform to the ecological system and reclaimed wood in the production process.
One of the key challenges overcome in this project was the limited space layout planning and arrangement. Despite these constraints, the office area, meeting area, and negotiation area were accurately divided, and a variety of materials such as stone, iron, and gray mirrors were strategically used to create a transparent visual sense, resembling a transparent cube.
Shi Zhe Lo's design was awarded Bronze in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious approach that authenticates experience and resourcefulness. The project exemplifies strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
