Award-winning architect Natalia Kokosalaki unveils her latest project, a stunning single-family house nestled in the heart of Crete, Greece, completed in 2018.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At the foot of the Lefka Ori mountains in Crete, a French couple sought to create a haven for their extended family, blending traditional Cretan elements with modern design. The house, a 250 square meter building on a 4700 square meter plot of land, harmoniously integrates with its surroundings, boasting an enclosed courtyard and large arched entrance reminiscent of Venetian influences.
Environmental and site analysis guided the construction, utilizing local stone, ocher, and wood for a seamless connection to the earth and outdoors. The design promotes slow living, offering a space where indoor and outdoor living coalesce effortlessly.
The project, winner of the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023, stands as a testament to Kokosalaki's commitment to preserving local architectural language while infusing it with contemporary sensibilities.
Kokosalaki|Architecture, based in Neo Psychiko, Greece, has garnered acclaim for its diverse portfolio, showcasing a dedication to innovative design across various project types, from historical renovations to boutique hotels and residential spaces.
