The Xinhe Group Headquarters, designed by acclaimed architect Pengfei He, has been honored with the Golden A' Design Award 2025 in the Architecture, Building and Structure category. Located in Lihu, Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province, the project reimagines the traditional office environment by blending seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Drawing inspiration from the water birds that once inhabited the site, the design captures the energy and elegance of birds in flight, symbolizing the client's ambition and vision for a dynamic, forward-thinking workplace.
Set on a 19,000-square-meter site bordered by water on three sides and nestled among small hills, the headquarters comprises six buildings ranging from three to five floors. These structures are carefully arranged along the lakeshore, following the natural terrain to maximize views, daylight, and landscape integration. The fragmented building volumes and landscaped exteriors ensure that each workspace enjoys a strong connection to nature, promoting a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere for employees while preserving the ecological character of the site.
Utilizing a thoughtful combination of stone, wood, glass, and metal, the design balances solidity and transparency, creating a rich interplay of textures, light, and shadow. The project's realization demonstrates a commitment to environmental stewardship, addressing challenges such as ecological preservation and landscape resource optimization. The Xinhe Group Headquarters stands as a model for how office buildings can coexist harmoniously with their environment, advancing a new paradigm in sustainable and context-sensitive corporate architecture.
