No Know, an immersive script murder escape room designed by Rong Han and located in Xi'an's Yongningli Shopping District, has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for its groundbreaking approach to interior design, blending unfinished architectural elements with interactive gameplay to create a dynamic, ever-evolving user experience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
No Know, conceived by designer Rong Han and realized by Shanxi Shanye Architectural Design Co., Ltd, has set a new benchmark in the world of immersive entertainment by winning the Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2025. Located on the second basement level of the Yongningli Shopping District in Xi'an, this 1080-square-metre escape room challenges conventional design norms by intentionally leaving many elements unfinished, such as exposed post-demolition walls and a raw, minimalist front desk. This deliberate incompleteness fosters an atmosphere of creative tension and mystery, perfectly aligning with the script murder game that inspired the project.
Drawing on Buddhist philosophy and the unpredictable nature of script murder games, No Know encourages visitors to look beyond appearances and engage deeply with their surroundings. The venue features ten uniquely themed rooms-ranging from Republican and Chinese to futuristic and minimalist Ins styles-each designed to evoke distinct emotional responses and spatial sensations. The preservation of original architectural features, including a prominent old staircase and roughly painted plaster walls, enhances the authenticity and tactile quality of the environment. Strategic lighting further accentuates these textures, making the unfinished surfaces a captivating part of the experience.
Social interaction is at the heart of No Know's design. The central public space, with its long, unfinished table, invites players to gather and converse, while narrow 1.2-meter-wide aisles encourage spontaneous encounters. The project's dynamic layout allows the space to evolve with each user interaction, ensuring that every visit feels like a fresh adventure. The designer's personal passion for script murder games informed every aspect of the project, seamlessly integrating gameplay mechanics and spatial design to deliver an unparalleled immersive journey. The Bronze A' Design Award recognizes No Know's contribution to quality of life improvements and its innovative blend of art, science, and user experience.
