Aynur Kirduk's Istanbul Kasaba project has earned the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025, celebrating its inventive approach to contemporary villa living. Located in Omerli, Istanbul, this three-story residence was reimagined to reflect the homeowners' tastes and the villa's unique forest setting. The design process, which spanned one year, prioritized the integration of natural materials, expansive glass facades, and a harmonious blend of modern and Art Deco styles to create a personalized, light-filled sanctuary.
The villa's layout is meticulously planned to offer distinct functional zones: the ground floor serves as a social hub, the basement houses a sound-insulated music studio, and the top floor features an office, bar, and cinema corner. The winter garden, adorned with natural textures, further enhances the warm and elegant ambiance. Custom furniture, velvet fabrics, and curated artworks by Turkish artists such as Zeynep Inal Engin and Fuat Ozsozer infuse the space with individuality and cultural richness. The use of high-quality materials like Mazzaro Hungarian laminate wood, Alexander Black marble, and Helena Calacatta marble ensures both durability and luxury.
Overcoming significant challenges, including structural inconsistencies and environmental issues like basement flooding, the design team implemented innovative solutions such as a new staircase and advanced insulation systems. The result is a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, facilitated by wide windows and open-plan layouts that maximize natural light and foster a connection with the surrounding landscape. The Istanbul Kasaba villa stands as a testament to Aynur Kirduk's commitment to creating timeless, functional, and aesthetically compelling living environments that elevate everyday life.
