Exquisiteness: A Sophisticated Home Showcasing Travel Memories and Timeless Elegance in Taipei

Mark Han, vice president of design at GIA Design, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for his latest residential project, "Exquisiteness," located in Taipei, Taiwan. Completed in August 2024, this 100-square-meter home was meticulously crafted for an entrepreneur who frequently travels abroad, with the aim of creating a warm, elegant sanctuary that beautifully displays cherished souvenirs and travel mementos.

The design stands out for its extensive use of souffle colors, which, paired with carefully configured lighting, envelop the public spaces in a gentle, mist-like warmth. Metallic accents shimmer under the lights, adding a fashionable and contemporary touch. The walls feature intricate carvings and prints, transforming the residence into a gallery-like space where art and memories from around the world are showcased. The master bedroom incorporates navy blue tones and metal frames, evoking a refined British atmosphere and infusing the space with vitality and sophistication.

Throughout the design process, Han and his team prioritized precise proportions, balanced scales, and detailed craftsmanship without overcomplicating the aesthetic. The result is a harmonious blend of classical elegance and modern comfort, where the owner can immerse themselves in the warmth of home and the joyful memories of their travels. The project's success is further underscored by its recognition at the A' Design Awards, which honor designs that improve quality of life and demonstrate technical and creative excellence.
