Shanghai New Bund Mansion Experience Center Redefines Urban Luxury with Cultural Depth and Architectural Innovation

Shanghai, China - The Shanghai New Bund Mansion Experience Center, designed by Jian Zhang and the Dejoy International Architects team, has been recognized with the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award for 2025. Located along the scenic Huangpu River in one of Shanghai's most exclusive low-density neighborhoods, the project stands out for its unique approach to blending the city's rich cultural heritage with modern luxury living. The design draws inspiration from the theme of time, reinterpreting classic elements of Old Shanghai through a contemporary lens to create a space that serves as both a cultural translation and a sophisticated urban retreat.

Spanning 1,200 square meters, the experience center is divided into two primary zones: a reception and display area reminiscent of a Shanghai-style hotel, and an outdoor garden concept that encloses four model rooms within a vibrant courtyard. Visitors are welcomed through an elevator hall draped in green velvet, leading to a striking reception area with an arc-shaped stone wall, mirrored ceilings, and guiding inlaid signs. The design's cinematic flow encourages guests to explore, interact, and envision a lifestyle deeply rooted in Shanghai's legacy while embracing future-forward aesthetics.

One of the project's key achievements lies in its adaptive solutions to the constraints of an office building environment, overcoming challenges such as limited floor heights and core-centered layouts. Through innovative spatial planning and visual focal points, the design team has created an inviting, open atmosphere that distinguishes the experience center from other luxury residences. The project's success is further underscored by its influence on subsequent developments in the area, helping to establish a distinct identity for Lujiazui in the real estate market and reinforcing the brand's commitment to excellence and cultural resonance.
