FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hypertank, designed by Jeffrey Zee and his team at JFR Studio, stands as a groundbreaking recreation complex in the historic seaport city of Xiamen, China. Spanning over 4,300 square meters, Hypertank merges cutting-edge design, technology, and multimedia art to create a multi-dimensional environment that transports visitors into the heart of interstellar exploration. The project draws inspiration from humanity's fascination with space travel and the ongoing quest for higher consciousness, aiming to ignite imagination and curiosity in guests of all ages.
The complex features a series of meticulously crafted spaces, including boarding decks, interactive elevator chambers, a grand concourse, hibernation pods, transportation capsules, and leisure hubs. Each area is enhanced by dynamic spatial compositions, kinetic lighting structures, custom 3D curved LED panels, and immersive soundscapes. Advanced materials such as glass-reinforced gypsum, patterned marble, perforated steel, and custom ceramics contribute to the futuristic aesthetic, while programmable lighting and high-resolution projections bring the interstellar theme to life. The design process involved extensive research, prototyping, and collaboration with digital artists and engineers to ensure seamless integration of technology and artistry.
Hypertank's realization required overcoming significant technical and creative challenges, including the coordination of interactive technologies, acoustic engineering, and precise installation of custom components. The project's success is a testament to the collaborative efforts between the design team, client operators, and a diverse group of specialists, who worked together from concept to completion between June 2022 and October 2023. The result is an inspirational, educational, and entertaining destination that sets a new standard for immersive experiences, recognized by the Golden A' Design Award for its outstanding contribution to the fields of interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
